Almost nine years since last event in the capital city, Dana White answers when the UFC will return to Dublin

Dana White is on hand in Dublin, Ireland as Callum Walsh is set to defend his WBC Continental Americas super welterweight title against Przemysław Runowski. The UFC has not traveled to the nation in nearly a decade, as UFC Fight Night 76 - back in October 2015 - marks the promotion's last event in Dublin.

The UFC CEO was asked when the company will return to Ireland during a press conference for the boxing event, responding:

"You know, it's funny, we were talking about that when we left the hotel today. You know, this arena right here that fight [Conor McGregor vs. Diego Brandão] was one of the greatest events I've ever been to. When he won, everybody threw their beer up in the air, they were going crazy."

White continued:

"It was raining beer for like three minutes in the arena and it was just so bad a**. It was an incredible night, incredible event and that was the beginning of the rise of Conor. The answer to your question is soon. We'll be back here soon."

When asked if the return to Dublin will come in 2025, White was non-committal, labeling it as a possibility. The promotion has held three events in Dublin, with the first coming at UFC 93 back in January 2009. More than five years UFC returned for the UFC Fight Night 46 in July 2014. The promotion's final visit to Ireland was for the aforementioned UFC Fight Night 76 in October 2015.

Tom Aspinall takes a shot at Jon Jones and Dana White

Tom Aspinall has angled for the opportunity to challenge Jon Jones for the undisputed heavyweight title. His call-outs have been to no avail as 'Bones' is officially set to defend his belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November. The No. 1-ranked heavyweight recently called out both the heavyweight champion and UFC CEO Dana White.

In a video shared to his YouTube, Aspinall was asked who would leave first if the three of them were locked in a room together. He responded:

"Depends what's going on in there, doesn't it? Depends what's going on. What are they up to? Dana and Jon. Because I might leave if them two are up to something. I don't know. Don't know. It's a bit of a strange question. I'm not sure."

Aspinall has continued to call for the opportunity to face either Jones or Miocic. The heavyweight champion has revealed that he will likely retire after UFC 309, while it is widely expected that the No. 8-ranked heavyweight will do the same.
