An excited Brandon Moreno gets off his wheelchair upon meeting Fabricio Werdum backstage at UFC 283
Brandon Moreno finally laid his long-running rivalry with Deiveson Figueiredo to rest with an emphatic win over the Brazilian to once again become the undisputed flyweight champion after securing a third-round knockout via doctor's stoppage.
As Moreno celebrated his second reign as flyweight champion, fans were treated to a heart-warming visual of the Mexican getting excited to see Fabricio Werdum waiting to meet him.
A video that did the rounds on social media shows Brandon Moreno being wheel-chaired back through the backstage area while shaking hands with a suited-up Gilbert Burns. A few moments later, 'The Assassin Baby' spots Werdum waiting for him and excitedly jumps up to greet him.
A video posted by r/ufc on Reddit showed the two former Spanish-language commentators for ESPN sharing a warm hug and some friendly pleasantries.
"Look how ecxited Moreno was to see Fabricio Werdum."
Brandon Moreno has now become a two-time flyweight champion with his latest victory over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 283. The Mexican is on a two-fight win streak and last defeated Kai Kara-France at UFC 277 via a third-round knockout.
Interestingly, Moreno was also greeted by his next potential opponent Alexandre Pantoja while backstage.
Brandon Moreno hints at Alexandre Pantoja potentially being his next opponent after backstage encounter
Brandon Moreno secured a third-round doctor’s stoppage TKO win over longtime rival Deiveson Figueiredo in their fourth meeting at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro.
Soon after his tetralogy win over 'Deus da Guerra,' the Mexican was greeted backstage by fellow flyweight contender Alexandre Pantoja. 'The Cannibal' used the short encounter to congratulate Moreno on his win and proceeded to make his case for a title shot. Moreno seemed to be on board with the request and promised to fight the No.2-ranked flyweight next.
In a post-fight press conference, Brandon Moreno revealed that even though his brief interaction with the Brazilian started courteously, it quickly turned unpleasant as Pantoja's conduct became more aggressive. He said:
"He was very friendly with me, to be honest, and everything to start. He came with me and he said, ‘Hey man, today I feel so happy for you. Congrats for the belt’ or whatever. At that point, everything was fine. There, he started to ask me like, ‘Hey, when is our fight? In two months? In three months? Tell me right now.'”

Considering Pantoja's impressive three-fight win streak and his impressive first-round submission victory over Alex Perez at UFC 277, it is highly probable that the Brazilian will indeed be Moreno's next opponent.
