MMA fans share hilarious memes about Alex Pereira hunting Israel Adesanya down in every possible sport: MLB, NFL, and more
In life, nothing is certain except death, taxes, and Israel Adesanya losing to Alex Pereira.
After three meetings across two different combat sports, Adesanya just couldn't find a way to defeat Pereira. To make matters worse, Adesanya was arguably winning up until Pereira caught him with a massive uppercut in the fifth and final round.
And though it was unfortunate for the former UFC middleweight champ, fans on social media just couldn't help but make fun of the situation.
In the aftermath of UFC 281, fight fans have been using their creative juices to create the funniest Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya memes. The concept is that whenever Adesanya goes, Pereira follows to ruin his day somehow.
Check out the funniest memes below:
Adesanya was recently arrested and detained at a New York airport after he attempted to go through security with brass knuckles. A few fans imagined a scenario in which Pereira was the airport security personnel who caught Adesanya with the contraband.
But that's not where it all ends. Some imagined a scenario in which Pereira followed Adesanya to prison.
It's common for professional athletes to take up other sports as their hobby. But some fans joked that leaving MMA won't help 'The Last Stylebender' escape 'Poatan.' One Twitter user wrote:
"The year is 2027. Alex Pereira defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 in 2022 and Izzy has since moved on and been drafted by the New York Yankees as a starting pitcher. /And now stepping up to the plate for his 4th at bat in the MLB, Alex Poatan Pereiraaaa!!"
Some scenarios were downright ridiculous. One meme had Adesanya as a zombie apocalypse survivor, while others depicted him as a Marvel Cinematic Universe actor, a McDonald's employee, a politician, and more.
Israel Adesanya suspended after losing to Alex Pereira
Israel Adesanya has been handed an indefinite medical suspension following his knockout loss to Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 281.
'The Last Stylebender' was attempting to secure the sixth successful defense of his middleweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York against Pereira. However, he lost the belt after being knocked out in the fifth round.
The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) has now issued its medical suspensions to 19 fighters from the event. One of which is the former champion, who received a mandatory rest period of 60 days.
Nonetheless, Adesanya assured his fans that he would bounce back from the setback. The Nigerian-born Kiwi took to Instagram to address the devastating loss as can be seen in the post above.
