Anissa Meksen dreams of winning ONE world title: “This is the only belt missing from my collection”
Kickboxing icon 'C18' Anissa Meksen of Algeria and France can't wait to step into the ONE Championship ring and seize the one piece of gold that has eluded her in her legendary career.
Meksen is gearing up to face Filipina-American star Jackie Buntan for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title next week, and she is confident her hand will be raised in victory, and that she walks out with the gold when it's all said and done.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Meksen talked about the opportunity to compete for the ONE world title.
'C18' said:
"I don’t have a list [of things I want to do]. I want to push myself a lot. I want to make crazy fights. This is the only belt missing from my collection, that’s why it’s my goal now. It’s my dream now, simply. I want this belt and I really want to make this dream come true."
Needless to say, Meksen will need to turn in another legendary performance if she wants to make history. Buntan is no walk in the park, and is a tough matchup for any opponent in the world's largest martial arts organization -- Meksen included.
