Antonio Mammarella unfazed by the hype surrounding ONE 167 opponent Adrian Lee: “I’m ready for everything”

ONE Championship newcomer Antonio Mammarella is not getting caught up in all the hype surrounding 18-year-old prospect Adrian Lee. On Friday, June 7, both Mammarella and Lee will make their promotional debuts as part of a locked and loaded ONE 167 inside Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the months leading up to their clash, most of the headlines have focused on Lee, an accomplished amateur fighter and a member of the legendary Lee family comprised of former atomweight queen Angela Lee, current two-division champion Christian Lee, and late MMA prodigy Victoria Lee.

Speaking with the promotion, Mammarella made it clear that while he respects Lee and his iconic family, he's refusing to get caught up in the narrative and will be ready for anything Lee throws at him.

“I have seen him competing just on the videos available online," Mammarella said. "I know he’s a young prospect and that he is part of a well-known fighting family. He has some good moves in the grappling game but I’m ready for everything.”

Adrian Lee ready to carry on the legacy of his fighting family against Antonio Mammarella

Going into his first professional MMA fight, Adrian Lee has a lot to live up to, considering his older brother and sister, Angela and Christian Lee, are two of the most prolific finishers in ONE Championship history.

With nine finishes against 11 wins, Angela Lee closed out her mixed martial arts career with an incredible 82% finish rate, including eight victories via submission. On the flip side, Christian Lee has an absolutely insane 94% finish rate, putting away all, but one of his wins with a dozen knockouts and four submissions.

"I describe my siblings and me as finishers, you know," Adrian Lee told KHON 2 News in his native Hawaii. "We go in there with purpose, and we try to get it done as fast as possible."

ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 167 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 7.
