Alex Pereira is having an incredible run in 2024. The 37-year-old's first fight of the year was at the historic UFC 300 event in April. Pereira headlined the highly anticipated card in a title showdown against Jamahal Hill. He made light work of his opponent and knocked him out in the opening round of the fight.
'Poatan's' next title defense was a rematch against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 in June. The Brazilian had won the first encounter via knockout in the second round. The story remained similar in their second clash as Pereira once again knocked 'Denisa' out in the second round of the fight.
Pereira received a Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts and took home an additional sum of $50,000.
The UFC light heavyweight champion's third fight for the year was held on Oct. 5. He fought Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of UFC 307. The bout turned out to be a highly entertaining affair where both fighters had moments of success.
Pereira eventually managed to outclass his opponent and scored a TKO in the fourth round of the title fight. The clash was declared the Fight of the Night and both fighters took home a bonus check of $50,000.
