Ariel Helwani referenced too many legends passing away lately in the above post and this has been evident throughout this calendar year so far and the well-known media member's condolences given on social media.

The 41-year-old was also spotlighted when UFC 1 legend Art Jimmerson passed away a couple of months ago at the age of 60. The participant of the inaugural event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship entered the field as a well-regarded boxer and was fondly remembered by many for wearing one glove for his fight with eventual tournament winner Royce Gracie.

Following news of his death breaking, Helwani recalled time reconnecting with Jimmerson a few years ago at a UFC Gym open workout. The award-winning journalist spoke highly of the nice, kind man who had a lot of pride in being a part of mixed martial arts history.

The Canadian-American native also paid homage to the legacy of basketball legend Jerry West who passed away a bit over a week ago. West was a standout player for years as part of the Los Angeles Lakers and his likeness is famously captured in the NBA logo as his silhouette was used as the inspiration for the iconography.

West then continued with the Lakers in a head coach capacity and then a general manager when his competitive career on the court had ended.
