Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol: Fight card, date, start time, streaming, how to watch, venue, and more
Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's upcoming clash, in the words of prominent boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, is a showdown of "two of the best in the sport going at it." The pair will finally clash for the undisputed light heavyweight title on Oct. 12 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Beterbiev, the current WBC, IBF, and WBO champion, holds an incredible record of 20 wins—all by knockout. Meanwhile, WBA champion Bivol boasts an equally impressive record of 22 wins with 11 knockouts. Both fighters have dominated their opponents in their journey to the top, and the stakes couldn’t be higher in this battle for light heavyweight supremacy.
Beterbiev is coming off an impressive TKO victory against Callum Smith in January while Bivol vanquished Malik Zinad by TKO in June. The victory marked Bivol's first finish since March 2018. He rattled off nine unanimous decision wins between the TKO triumphs.
They were initially scheduled to clash in June but Beterbiev suffered a ruptured meniscus, leading to the postponement of the fight. Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, announced that a replacement opponent was being sought for Bivol and he ended up taking on Zind.
Beterbiev underwent knee surgery and the undercard proceeded as planned, featuring five boxers from Matchroom against five from Queensberry, including bouts such as Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic vs. Daniel Dubois.
