Asa Ten Pow looking to springboard into MMA career by beating John Lineker: “It helps give me that clout”
34-year-old Muay Thai and MMA fighter Asa Ten Pow of the United States is looking for a big win this weekend against hard-hitting Brazilian John Lineker. If he can beat the former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion, Ten Pow believes it could help set him up for mixed martial arts success.
'The American Ninja' competes in both 'the art of eight limbs' and MMA, and in ONE Championship, he has the opportunity to make a name for himself in whatever discipline he chooses.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Asa Ten Pow talked about beating Lineker and using that to springboard his MMA career.
'The American Ninja' said:
"He [John Lineker] is the name to help me in that transition. If I want to be in that MMA world, it helps give me that clout."
Ten Pow envisions a victory over the former undisputed MMA king and says he can even come back in just a few months to make his MMA debut in ONE.
The 34-year-old added:
"In MMA, we can do it in Atlanta as well. Get me right back [at ONE 169]. What I’m really trying to do now is stay consistent, be on top of it, and just get these fights going."
