Asa Ten Pow unfazed by John Lineker’s signature looping hooks: “I expect to have my way”
American striker Asa Ten Pow is not worried about his next opponent, John Lineker, who will make his debut in the Muay Thai ruleset at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.
The 34-year-old knows full well that Lineker will carry massive power in his hands, especially his looping hooks, but he thinks that those punches won't matter when faced with his entire Muay Thai skills.
'The American Ninja' is extremely excited to welcome 'Hands of Stone' in his favorite discipline, as he spoke ONE Championship ahead of their clash inside Denver's Ball Arena this weekend.
Ten Pow said:
“I don’t expect his Muay Thai to translate well with me. I expect to have my way as long as I’m not doing what he does best, which is throwing those hooks with no regard for anybody."
At the end of the day, this would be a very interesting fight, especially for the fans who want to see Lineker's knockout power against Ten Pow's highly touted striking.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and entirely free with an Amazon Prime Video subscription. Limited tickets for ONE 168: Denver are still available via Ticketmaster.
John Lineker plans to shut down Asa Ten Pow's Muay Thai skills
Meanwhile, on the other end, Asa Ten Pow's opponent John Lineker also has a plan on his own: shutting down his foe's attacks and hunting for the finish at ONE 168: Denver this weekend.
The former bantamweight MMA king knows firsthand that he needs to stay on his path, enforce his game plan, and bring the attack to Ten Pow to make him uncomfortable in the Circle.
The Brazilian said:
"I’m going to do everything I can to neutralize his strengths and get my game right. He’s a tough, technical and versatile guy."
