Daniel Cormier tries to convince Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson to join the UFC
Former UFC double champ Daniel Cormier recently gave out some advice to Gable Steveson.
Steveson is a decorated wrestler with an Olympic gold medal in the men's freestyle 125-kilogram wrestling class. The 22-year-old has also been a two-time NCAA Division I national champion as a collegiate wrestler.
Steveson is currently signed with WWE, but is yet to have his debut match with the company.
In a recent episode of the Daniel Cormier Check-In, 'DC' urged Gable Steveson to join the UFC in the heavyweight division, citing his wrestling accomplishments:
"At some point, you gotta fight. The world wants Gable Steveson to fight. How important would that Olympic medal be to you and your fight career?...When you look at the landscape, Jon Jones is going to heavyweight, Francis Ngannou is the champion, there's like Cyril Gane in there who's a savage. Curtis Blaydes makes his money with wrestling, who may be the most credentialed guy left in heavyweight in terms of wrestling. How does Gable Steveson match up with those dudes?"
Stevenson expressed interest in fighting for the heavyweight title in the UFC, claiming that he would fare well against the top fighters in the division. The Olympic gold medallist said:
"In my own head, I stack up perfectly. I know where I stand. I know where my head is at and I know when I put my head to it I can beat anybody."

Dominick Reyes should hang his gloves, according to Daniel Cormier
At UFC 281, Dominick Reyes was handed his fourth consecutive loss after getting knocked out by Ryan Spann in under two minutes of the first round.
Appearing on a recent episode of their, The DC and RC show, hosts Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark discussed the No.12 ranked light heavyweight contender's recent performances in the octagon. The two are of the view that it is high time for 'The Devastator' to walk away from the octagon and hang his gloves:
"Is it time for Dominick Reyes to walk away after what Ryan Spann did to him? Because we got a guy who was super close to becoming the champion against Jon Jones, to now getting knocked out by Jiri [Prochazka] who is the champ, and Jan Blachowicz who was the champ. Now he's not fighting champions, he lost to a guy in Ryan Spann who has now won two in a row..."Dominick Reyes was so close to being the champion. When it starts to take a turn the way it has, it's time for him to walk away."
