Atomweight MMA queen Stamp dissects Victoria Souza-Alyse Anderson fixture in Denver: “It’ll be fun”

Reigning ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex expects the battle between Alyse Anderson and Victoria Souza to deliver the goods at ONE 168: Denver.

This Friday night, Sept. 6, ONE Championship returns to 'The Mile High City' for one of the year's biggest cards. Emanating from Ball Arena, fight fans will be treated to a slew of can't-miss matchups — chief among them being the champion vs. champion clash as two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty puts his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the line against 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Offering her take on Friday's showdown between Anderson and Souza, Stamp expects both ladies to deliver an exciting scrap that could carry major title implications:

“I think it’ll be fun," Stamp told the promotion in a recent interview. "Alyse is motivated because of the defeat, while Victoria is determined because she’s still a newer competitor. It’ll be an interesting matchup.”

Victoria Souza excited for the opportunity to compete against Alyse Anderson in the U.S.

Competing for the first time since May 2023, Alyse Anderson will look to bounce back after coming up short against Stamp at ONE Fight Night 10 — the promotion's first-ever event in the United States.

Before that, 'Lil Savage' earned a first-round submission victory over Asha Roka at ONE 157.

Meanwhile, Victoria Souza will seek her third win under the ONE Championship banner after bagging wins over Linda Darrow and Japanese fan favorite Itsuki Hirata.

Speaking with ONE, Souza shared her excitement about competing stateside and having her family in the arena to see her compete on martial arts' biggest global stage:

"I am very excited and happy to fight in the USA," Souza said. "My family is happy, they will come and watch."

Who leaves 'The Centennial State' with their hand raised and one step closer toward a potential atomweight MMA title opportunity?

ONE 168: Denver will air live on Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime in both the United States and Canada on Friday, September 6. Follow this link for tickets to attend the event live at Ball Arena.
