Atomweight MMA queen Stamp hopes to “get back to doing everything normally” five weeks after knee surgery

A month after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in her left knee, ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex is already getting back into the swing of things.

Stamp was scheduled to defend her atomweight title against friend and former training partner Denice Zamboanga at ONE 167 in June. Sadly, the bout was postponed after Stamp suffered an injury while training, forcing her to bow out of the bout.

Taking to Instagram, Stamp offered an update on her recovery, revealing that she's feeling much more confident and hopes to get back to her normal training regimen before long. She wrote:

"5 weeks after surgery Now I just started cycling. Thank you @rehab_performance_pattaya @felix_pts @ratcha_pts for your care and support. Little by little I‘m starting to feel more confident and hope I can get back to doing everything normally soon."

Stamp heartbroken to learn she couldn't fight at ONE 167 in Bangkok

Stamp Fairtex is one of ONE Championship's most accomplished athletes, having already etched her name in the history books as the promotion's first-ever three-sport world champion, willing the ONE atomweight Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA world titles.

She took home the vacant atomweight MMA crown in September, securing a stunning third-round body shot knockout against South Korean sensation Ham Seo Hee at ONE Fight Night 14.

The victory moved her to an impressive 11-2 record in mixed martial arts.

As someone who loves to prove herself inside the Circle, Stamp was understandably distraught when she got the call from her doctor telling her that she would not be able to defend her title at ONE 167 in her home country. Speaking to ONE, Stamp said:

"Cry, I cried. When the doctor called, he told me to take a long break and I cried and cried in my room. I was crying and brushing away my tears, even when I was in the shower."

When and where Stamp Fairtex returns remains to be seen, but one thing we know for sure—Denice Zamboanga will be waiting.
