Atomweight upstart Victoria Souza ‘excited’ for opportunity to compete in front of her loved ones at ONE 168: Denver

Atomweight MMA standout Victoria Souza is excited for the opportunity to compete on home soil this September.

More than a year and a half removed from ONE Championship's critically acclaimed U.S. debut with ONE Fight Night 10, the promotion will head back to The Mile High city —Denver, Colorado — for ONE 168.

Emanating from Ball Arena, the history-making event will feature a massive clash in the art of eight limbs as Jonathan Haggerty puts his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Also set to appear on the card is Souza, a surging contender in one of ONE Championship's most stacked divisions.

Speaking with Sportskeeda MMA following her impressive performance at ONE 167, 'Vick' shared her excitement over competing in North America, saying:

"I am very excited and happy to fight in the USA. My family is happy, they will come and watch."

Victoria Souza climbs back into win column with impressive submission victory at ONE 167

After dropping two of her first three fights inside the Circle, Victoria Souza appears to have found her footing.

Squaring off with rising Japanese star Ituski Hirata inside the sold-out Impact Arena on June 7, 'Vick' scored a sensational 91-second submission over 'Android 18' after putting her opponent to sleep with a slick guillotine choke.

The victory moved Souza to 2-2 in ONE Championship and 8-2 overall. She still has some work to do before breaking into the atomweight top five, but if she manages to bag another W against Alyse Anderson at ONE 168: Denver, she will be well on her way to contendership.
