Aung La N Sang reveals his dream matchup against a surprising opponent: “He’s a free agent, right?”
Former ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion 'The Burmese Python' Aung La N Sang of Myanmar is ready to step back inside the ONE Championship circle to pick up where he left off.
Aung La N Sang was last seen at ONE Fight Night 10 in May of 2023, where he delivered a savage beatdown of China's 'King Kong Warrior' Fan Rong at Denver's 1stBank Arena.
Now, the 39-year-old Myanma veteran fighter is set to make his first appearance since, and to try to extend his latest winning streak to four by beating undefeated Turkish-Russian star Shamil Erdogan.
Aung La N Sang told Cageside Press in a recent interview:
"I've been ready and I've been wanting this fight. So it's going to be good."
When asked about his dream matchup, Aung La N Sang reiterated he was not looking past Erdogan. But he did have an opponent in mind.
'The Burmese Python' said:
"Dream matchup MMA - I know Gegard Mousasi is a free agent, that'll be a cool fight right? Think about it."
Needless to say, a high-profile showdown between absolute legends of the sport like Aung La N Sang and Gegard Mousasi has epicness written all over it.
