Aung La N Sang says focus is strictly on Shamil Erdogan test in Denver: "I like to stay present in the moment"
Former two-division MMA supremo Aung La N Sang is eager to reclaim his pair of 26 pounds of gold. However, he refuses to look too far into the future with another test coming up.
The Burmese sporting icon steps back inside the ONE Circle at ONE 168: Denver, looking to make it four wins in a row inside the Ball Arena on September 6.
Aiming to halt his rich vein of form is Turkish warrior Shamil Erdogan. They lock horns in a middleweight MMA contest.
Speaking on his mindset, Aung La N Sang plans to only take things one step at a time in his bid to regain his throne atop the middleweight and light heavyweight mountain.
The Kill Cliff FC fighter told The AllStar:
"Planning for too far in the future is never constructed for me as for my fight career, you know."
"Whenever I think too far into it, something else goes wrong. And I don't like to do that anymore. I like to stay present in the moment right now."
Should he secure another win at ONE 168: Denver, the 39-year-old could well be on his way to another opportunity to reclaim what he once owned.

Needless to say, 'The Burmese Python' has been impressed by what he's seen so far, and he has nothing but praise for the younger set of MMA world champion hopefuls.
In the same interview, he added:
"Even though I'm like the OG in ONE Championship, I'm still learning, and I'm still growing. But these young guys are phenomenal, like the skill sets they have are at a very high level at such a young age, you know. I'm just like blown away by the skill sets of these younger guys."
