Ayaka Miura welcomes newcomer Macarena Aragon in atomweight MMA clash at ONE 169
Another exciting showdown has been added to the loaded ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug card, featuring two firecrackers from the women's 115-pound division MMA division.
ONE Championship veteran Ayaka Miura will seek to give Macarena Aragon a rude welcome to the world's largest martial arts organization on Nov. 8 inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
'Zombie' has been a staple in the promotion's female division, where she compiled five finishes in six victories. It's pretty much a wrap once the Japanese star sets up her signature 'Ayaka Lock' or scarf hold from the Kesa Gatame position.
After falling short in her bid to claim the women's strawweight MMA title from the division's long-time ruler Xiong Jing Nan, Miura is looking to start fresh in the atomweight MMA ranks.
The Tribe Tokyo MMA affiliate certainly got off to a great start in the division following her dominant unanimous decision win over compatriot Itsuki 'Android 18' Hirata at ONE 165 last January.
Macarena Aragon, though, is eager to steal her thunder. The undefeated 22-year-old prospect comes from a strong Judo background, which should match up nicely with Miura's grappling-heavy style.
A win over an established foe and former title challenger will do wonders for the young Argentinian, who's looking to make an immediate impact in the atomweight MMA division.
ONE 169 is one of the biggest combat sports cards of the year
Three world titles will be up for grabs at ONE 169, headlined by the colossal heavyweight MMA world title showdown between champion Anatoly Malykhin and formidable challenger 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon will also defend his flyweight Muay Thai gold in a rematch with Jacob Smith.
The inaugural women's strawweight kickboxing world champion will also be crowned once the dust settles between Anissa Meksen and Jackie Buntan.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug will air live in US Primetime free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
