“Banger fights only” - Fans can’t keep calm as UFC 308’s already loaded fight card heats-up further with exciting new additions
The UFC 308 fight announcements have taken the MMA world by storm. It all started when UFC CEO Dana White recently uploaded a video announcing that the UFC 308 will have a featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway as the main event.
The event will be held on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. White also announced that a five-round middleweight showdown between Khamzat Chimaev and former champion Robert Whittaker will serve as the co-main event.
Apart from that, the UFC CEO also announced thrilling matchups in the form of Aleksandar Rakic vs. Magomed Ankalaev and Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov for the UFC 308 event.
The UFC later added two more exciting fights to round up the main card of the event. This included a featherweight scrap between Lerone Murphy and Dan Ige and a welterweight thriller between Geoff Neal and former lightweight king Rafael dos Anjos.
MMA fans around the world got excited by the fight announcements and took to social media to share their reactions to it.
One fan praised the fight announcements and hailed UFC 308 as the best card of 2024.
"My card of the year already. Banger fights only."
One individual predicted for Holloway to emerge victorious in the main event.
"Max becoming champion again."
One person took this chance to criticize Chmaev, saying that 'Borz' did not deserve to fight Whittaker.
"Khamzat doesn't deserve that fight."
Another user took shots at Chimaev, claiming that the 30-year-old would eventually drop out of the event and the main card would get reduced to five fights.
"It'll end up being a five fight main card because we all know Chimaev isn't fighting LOL."
