Bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade guns “for another finish” in world title defense against old foe Kwon Won Il at ONE 170
Fabricio Andrade is gunning for an explosive sequel to his first fight against fellow knockout machine Kwon Won Il.
The reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion will defend his throne against Kwon in their second meeting against each other at the stacked ONE 170 card on Jan. 24 at Impact Arena.
Andrade and Kwon faced off for the first time at ONE 158, with the Brazilian superstar taking out his rival with a soul-crushing roundhouse kick to the liver.
Taking to Instagram, Andrade said he wants to send Kwon to the shadow realm for the second and more impactful time.
"We are 11 days away, 24th of January, we're going for another finish. Thank you for your support #andSTILL," posted Fabricio Andrade.
'Wonder Boy' is one of the most explosive and entertaining fighters in ONE Championship, with his striking-heavy offensive style captivating audiences around the globe.
Andrade, who started his career in kickboxing and Muay Thai, is a violent blend of speed, precision, and power that no one in the bantamweight MMA division has yet to solve.
After taking a surprising submission win over Mark Abelardo in his ONE Championship debut, Andrade collected a unanimous decision win over Shoko Sato and then racked up knockout victories over Li Kai Wen, Jeremy Pacatiw, Kwon, and John Lineker.
The 27-year-old slugger now looks to maintain his hold over the bantamweight MMA division against the surging Kwon.
Following his loss to Andrade, Kwon recovered with a three-fight knockout streak against Abelardo, Artem Belakh, and Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg.
Fabricio Andrade is confident he knows how to beat Kwon Won Il for the second time
Fabricio Andrade's done it once and believes he'll do it again.
Ahead of his world title defense against Kwon Won Il, Andrade told the Bangkok Post that he's already found the solution to beat Kwon for the second time in their head-to-head series.
Andrade believes he's bound for another knockout win, but he wants a longer match with Kwon after their first encounter ended in the opening frame.
"He showed that in his performances. He got three finishes, but I know how to beat him. This time it's not going to be different, but I want it to go a little longer."
