Bare Knuckle FC co-owner Conor McGregor shares two-word reaction after promotion teams up with DAZN in massive deal
For the first time in promotional history, BKFC will have a standard television deal for its events moving forward. Few are more excited about the news than co-owner Conor McGregor, who shared his excitement on social media.
The bare-knuckle promotion announced on Sept. 13 that they had inked a multi-year deal with DAZN, who will be their primary broadcasting partner moving forward. McGregor quote-tweeted the announcement post with his reaction and posted:
"HUGE NEWS"
Exact details of the deal were not released but it appears that the majority of the BKFC events moving forward will be available on DAZN. Before this development, the promotion had held most of its events in-house on the BKFC app and on Triller.
For now, it appears that the partnership is exclusive, meaning all BKFC fans will have to subscribe to DAZN to watch all future events. The pay-per-view structure has not been confirmed but up until Sept. 13, BKFC had been selling its major fight cards for $29.99.
The BKFC also did not reveal how long the deal would last beyond announcing that it was a multi-year partnership.
Will Conor McGregor fight in the BKFC?
Conor McGregor has openly expressed his interest in the BKFC for many years, to the point of investing in the promotion by becoming a co-owner while still under contract with the UFC. However, until he respects the remaining two fights on his current contract, he is ineligible to compete in the BKFC ring.
His deal with the UFC has not prevented him from teasing a BKFC debut, as he most recently did on Sept. 3 ahead of BKFC 65. McGregor often promotes the brand's products but did so for the Salt Lake City event by saying he would be interested in fighting Jeremy Stephens, who was competing on the card, in bare-knuckle down the line.
Conor McGregor has also shown interest in fighting BKFC star Mike Perry, though he countered that by claiming he "fired" the 32-year-old after his loss to Jake Paul.
