“Been watching each other for a long time” - Superbon says he and Jo Nattawut were destined to fight
ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion and current first-ranked Muay Thai contender Superbon of Thailand says he and countryman 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut have long been on a collision course in ONE Championship.
Superbon and Nattawut have been fringe contenders in the featherweight Muay Thai space in the world's largest martial arts organization. And now, they are scheduled to meet to see who moves forward for a shot at the gold.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Superbon talked about Nattawut and their upcoming showdown this weekend.
The 34-year-old Superbon Training Camp founder said:
"Jo and I have been watching each other for a long time, as we both fought in kickboxing and then Muay Thai. We have been close to each other but never had the chance to lock horns."
Superbon and Nattawut are set to lock horns in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs. Nattawut, which broadcasts live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Sept. 27, Asia primetime.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live via global pay-per-view on watch.onefc.com. Visit ONE Championship's official website for more information on how you can watch from your location.

Superbon believes he should take Jo Nattawut's spot against Tawanchai
Interim featherweight kickboxing king Superbon says he believes he should usurp 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut and take his opponent's place in a scheduled featherweight Muay Thai world title shot against reigning champ Tawanchai PK Saenchai, should he emerge victorious on Friday.
Nattawut is scheduled to challenge Tawanchai for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8. But if Superbon beats him, he could very well take Nattawut's place instead.
Superbon told South China Morning Post:
"For me, I feel 100 percent. But I cannot say that because it does not depend on me, it depends on the boss."
