Belal Muhammad compares his fighting style to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman, claims he has "higher IQ"
Belal Muhammad recently analyzed his fighting style and noted that he believes that it is a much better version of Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman's respective styles. The 36-year-old will attempt to prove that as he challenged Leon Edwards for his welterweight championship in the main event of UFC 304, which takes place in Manchester, England on Saturday.
'Remember The Name' has been vocal about why he should have been awarded a title shot sooner, but remained active and continued to rack up wins against top ranked welterweights. His fighting style has been compared to both 'Chaos' and 'The Nigerian Nightmare' in terms of being wrestling heavy.
During his pre-fight media availability ahead of UFC 304, 'Remember The Name' responded when asked how his fighting style compares to Covington and Usman. Muhammad mentioned that he believes he has better habits and is able to combine his strengths and maintain his relentless pace. He said:
"I think I have a higher IQ than both of them. I push a different pace than both of them...I do it all. I have strength, pressure, power, grappling, and I put it all together better than anybody in the UFC."

'Remember The Name's most recent loss was a unanimous decision to Geoff Neal on the first UFC event on ESPN+ on Jan. 19, 2019. Following the loss, Muhammad won four consecutive bouts before fighting Leon Edwards to a no contest after he was unable to continue following 'Rocky's accidental eye poke.
Since then, Muhammad won five consecutive bouts against the likes of Stephen Thompson, Sean Brady and Gilbert Burns. The impressive wins have resulted in him surging up the UFC welterweight rankings and finally earning a long awaited title shot against Edwards.
