Belal Muhammad compares "midget" Ilia Topuria to Lord Farquaad from 'Shrek' in response to latter's recent diss

The online feud between UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad and featherweight titleholder Ilia Topuria has escalated dramatically. Muhammad has now mocked Topuria’s height by likening him to Lord Farquaad from the animated film Shrek. This playful jab comes in response to recent insults exchanged between the two fighters.

In a segment on the Remember The Show podcast, Muhammad dismissed Topuria's remarks as unoriginal, accusing him of imitating other fighters like Conor McGregor and Colby Covington.

'El Matador,' did not shy away from the back-and-forth, stating that defeating Muhammad would be "a walk in the park" should he decide to move up to welterweight.

In a recent social media post, Muhammad responded to Topuria’s threats with a quip about wanting to see him knocked out, saying:

“Can’t wait till Max knocks this mi*get out and he goes back to acting in shrek."

Belal Muhammad opens up on potential move to middleweight

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has hinted at a future move to middleweight, following his title defense against Shavkat Rakhmonov in December. Muhammad secured the welterweight belt earlier this year by decisively defeating Leon Edwards and is now eager to solidify his status in the division.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Muhammad expressed his ambitions for a second championship title. However, he emphasized the importance of establishing himself as the dominant force in the welterweight category before making the leap:

“Maybe one or two more fights, I think then I could start talking about middleweight and could start talking about double champ status... When you look at the guys I’ve fought – what do I have? Six or seven wins in the top 10, top 15 of my division right now, so I’ve already fought all these guys even before getting to the title... So now that I’m at the champion status, it’s like, well OK, now I probably only got a couple more left before I can start talking about the bums at 185.” [H/t: MMA Junkie]
