Belal Muhammad reacts after Conor McGregor calls him out for a welterweight title fight

For the first time in nearly a decade, the UFC welterweight champion has no interest in fighting Conor McGregor. Despite being called out by 'The Notorious' on his latest livestream, Belal Muhammad dismissed the Irishman as a legitimate contender.

McGregor was asked by a fan on his stream for his thoughts on Muhammad and called the welterweight champion "woeful" before saying he would fight him for the title after beating Michael Chandler. 'Remember the Name' responded on X, calling attention to McGregor's lack of a resume.

Muhammad tweeted:

"[Laughing emoji] Wins over... Ok, I think he earned it"

McGregor referred to himself as "dangerous" at welterweight but per Muhammad's tweet, has only beaten Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone at 170 pounds. Both wins were monumental in the sport at the time they happened but neither Diaz nor Cerrone were considered divisional contenders at the time of the fight.

McGregor has not fought in the UFC since 2021 and has been away from the welterweight division for even longer, not competing at 170 pounds since January 2020. The 36-year-old is expected to make his return at welterweight and was booked to do so against Chandler at UFC 303 but withdrew from the fight with a broken toe.

Belal Muhammad tells Conor McGregor to "send location"

After initially brushing aside Conor McGregor, Belal Muhammad sent out another tweet mocking the former two-division champion for calling him out. Muhammad posted a video featuring his homemade skit, captioning it by telling 'The Notorious' to "send location."

The champion's "send location" message was a clear nod to Khabib Nurmagomedov, who made the same statement to McGregor when he was the lightweight champion. Muhammad often trains with Nurmagomedov, a fighter turned coach whom he considers a friend.

Muhammad does not appear to have any legitimate interest in fighting McGregor but is rather keeping the door open for the potential lucrative opportunity down the line.
