Belal Muhammad reacts to Umar Nurmagomedov humbling Kamaru Usman about welterweight supremacy on his podcast
Belal Muhammad recently shared his reaction to Umar Nurmagomedov playing down Kamaru Usman's welterweight supremacy. Muhammad also claimed that the ex-UFC champion had discovered who was "the real boss."
Muhammad captured the welterweight title at UFC 304 in July after defeating Leon Edwards via unanimous decision. In the weeks following his title win, Muhammad found himself at loggerheads with Usman after 'The Nigerian Nightmare' seemingly discredited his title win. In response, Muhammad slammed Usman's resume and claimed the former champ was being "protected" by the promotion.
The two fired shots at each other via social media several times, and it appears there's no love lost between them. Nevertheless, Usman has stood his ground regarding his supremacy over the welterweights and recently voiced his opinion on his podcast, which he co-hosts with Henry Cejudo.
In a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast featuring Nurmagomedov, Usman proclaimed he was the "boss" of the 170-pound division:
"I am the boss of the welterweight division. I took a little break, you know, two years break. Relax and take care of my body a little bit. Next year, I will come back and, Inshallah, show these guys I'm still the boss."
However, Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin didn't let Usman discredit Muhammad and quickly pointed out that 'Remember The Name' was currently reigning over the welterweights:
"Sorry brother, but right now you're not. Belal Muhammad, right now, he's the boss... You have to believe you boss, you have to believe this. And I have to believe it too... But right now, Belal's the champion."

Kamaru Usman slams Belal Muhammad for "talking reckless" after winning UFC gold
Last month, Kamaru Usman sounded off on Belal Muhammad for getting too carried away after his UFC title win over Leon Edwards. 'The Nigerian Nightmare' warned Muhammad against "talking reckless" and hinted at returning to settle their differences in the cage.
During an episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, Usman addressed Muhammad's social media activity, saying:
"Everything [Muhammad] does, I do better... Becoming the new champion, that goes to your head. It's like having your first beer, all of a sudden now you're talking reckless to everybody like you're this dude... If that is my next fight, then I'm gonna have to go in there and do what I do."
