Belal Muhammad reveals UFC has asked him to coach TUF against Colby Covington
The UFC's welterweight division is top-heavy and one of the foremost contenders right now is Belal Muhammad. The No.4-ranked welterweight is on a hot streak of eight straight wins and wants to go up against No.2-ranked Colby Covington.
As per 'Remeber The Name', the UFC wants to explore the dynamic between the two further by pitting them against each other on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). Muhammad discussed the same in a recent interview with TMZ.
He mentioned the UFC's offer and how a fight against Colby Covington ties up with his plans to challenge for the title:
"I wasn't even thinking about Colby [Covington], I wasn't even thinking he was gonna fight and then they brought it to me like three weeks ago, they were like, 'Hey we're gonna give you and Colby TUF', and I was like obviously I'm gonna be pumped, I'm excited. Because fighting downwards in my last fight, I was like this fight I need to fight upwards, being on an eight-fight winning streak, I need to be one away from a title fight. And Colby was the perfect name. And obviously, when you fight him, you get a lot of attention, you get a lot of eyes."
He urged 'Chaos' to respond to the challenge:
"Colby, pick up the phone man! If you still think you would wanna be the champion, you still think you're one of the top guys in the division. You're gonna be sitting out for a year, there's no more guys on losing streaks that they can give you, there's no more old veterans that's in the division."
Muhammad mentioned that it was about time for Covington to fight a top-ranked contender.

Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns tussle over their welterweight rankings
Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns are ranked right next to each other at No.4 and No.5, respectively. Following Burns' UFC 283 victory over Neil Magny, the Brazilian expressed his disappointment at the rankings not reflecting a change in his position.
During his post-fight press conference appearance, Burns complained about 'Remember The Name' being ahead of him.

Belal Muhammad hit back at the Brazilian and said:
"Lol because u have one ranked win and I have 4 ….and u begged for the masvidal fight for the last 7 months"
Burns has two losses in his last four fights and has had an inconsistent patch of results compared to Muhammad, who has churned out wins by a handful.
