Belal Muhammad trolls Kamaru Usman as 'The Nigerian Nightmare' trains with potential welterweight title fight in sight

Belal Muhammad and Kamaru Usman have continued their war of words on social media with the former firing off the latest online jab at the latter. It came off of a retweet from an X account known as @ColbyUfcCov. The original tweet, showcased footage of Usman getting in some shadowboxing work ahead of a rumored return to the octagon.

The X account Cardio King had corresponding text with the quote that captioned the Usman video saying,

"Kamaru Usman gearing up for his potential title fight against the Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad #UFC"

The reigning UFC welterweight titleholder in question retweeted this clip of the former 170-pound titleholder in the promotion. By way of his own personal X account @bullyb170, Muhammad used a bit of playful innuendo seemingly referencing performance-enhancing drugs by stating,

"He's gonna need more gear than that"

Belal Muhammad desires UFC 310 return and has two options for an opponent

Belal Muhammad is just a few weeks off from cementing himself as champion in the UFC for the first time but is already eyeing his first defense of that belt. He became UFC welterweight champion in a dominant performance against Leon Edwards at UFC 304 on July 27 but seems hungry to notch that first title defense which many fighters see as crucial.

Per a recent interview, it looks like 'Remember the Name' wants to take part in that bout before the calendar year is done.

When speaking with MMA Junkie, the 36-year-old stated that he would like to get on the UFC 310 card in December. This event is also linked to a rumored re-booking of the Conor McGregor versus Michael Chandler match which has been targeted as a welterweight battle.

The Illinois native mentioned Usman as a possibility for this desired spot. Despite the three-fight losing streak Usman has been on, he has notched five welterweight title defenses during his prior reign and is one of the most accomplished champions in promotional history.

The other opponent Muhammad sees as a likelihood for this event is Shavkat Rakhmonov. 'Nomad' is 18-0 as a professional mixed martial artist who boasts a one hundred percent finishing rate and has compiled a 6-0 record specifically in the UFC. Rakhmonov has compiled wins inside the octagon over names like Neil Magny, Geoff Neal, and Stephen Thompson just to name a few.
