Belal Muhammad winds up Kamaru Usman as latter seemingly mocks Ian Machado Garry: "Tell him to reveal the podcast he cried on"
Belal Muhammad seemingly took a dig at Kamaru Usman as the former UFC welterweight champion seemed like he was putting Ian Machado Garry on blast. Usman was discussing Machado Garry on a recent episode of Pound 4 Pound which 'The Nigerian Nightmare' hosts alongside Henry Cejudo.
The two welterweights have been engaging in a fair bit of banter lately with Machado Garry claiming Usman ducked him and the latter adamantly denying these claims from the former. Tapping into some of his direct messages on social media from over three and a half years ago, Usman said:
"I'm gonna show you something real quick. I'm gonna read you something, Henry. I'm gonna read you a DM from Ian Garry, right. This kid's a fan of mine, a big fan of mine. Ian Garry, 2021 right. Apr. 27 2021, Ian Garry, 'It's a pleasure to watch you do what you do in that cage. Nothing but respect,' from Ian Garry."
An X account known as @Home_of_Fight posted a clip of this referenced exchange with the reigning UFC welterweight champion appearing in the tweet thread underneath. Seemingly casting aspersions at the former 170-pound titleholder in the promotion, Muhammad responded:
"Tell him to reveal the podcast he cried on"

Belal Muhammad's thoughts on the UFC Tampa headliner
Belal Muhammad has recently offered up some thoughts on the final UFC main event of the calendar year which happens to be taking place within the division he helms over. Former multi-time lineal title challenger and former interim champion Colby Covington will collide on Saturday night against streaking contender Joaquin Buckley.
Muhammad was speaking about this UFC Tampa matchup on the RTS podcast and he did not mince words during his assessment of things. The 36-year-old champion flatly said that he feels Covington s*cks and he hopes that Buckley can break the jaw of 'Chaos' and put him out cold.
Belal Muhammad went on to state that he thinks Buckley can secure a knockout here and he feels like the surging contender is athletic enough to defend the takedowns of Covington. 'Remember the Name' would also articulate that he feels Covington could have success this weekend if he can keep Buckley on the fence and wear him down.
The Chicago native mentioned how he feels Covington's strikes hold no real threat. Belal Muhammad brought this up to say that Joaquin Buckley may need to take one to give one to show that there are levels to the striking game.
