Beneil Dariush, Julianna Pena, and other UFC stars revisit iconic Conor McGregor performance at Madison Square Garden

Conor McGregor made history at the UFC 205 event that transpired at Madison Square Garden in New York City (NYC) on November 12, 2016. His victory at UFC 205 made McGregor the first fighter to simultaneously hold two UFC titles. On that note, a few UFC stars have now revisited the Irishman's iconic performance.

Former UFC women's bantamweight champions Julianna Pena and Holly Holm, as well as UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush, expressed their appreciation for McGregor. In a video posted to the UFC's YouTube channel earlier today, they praised 'The Notorious' for his thrilling win at UFC 205.

The then-UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor moved up in weight to face the then-UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. McGregor dominated the fight with a striking masterclass, defeated Alvarez via second-round TKO, won the lightweight belt, and thereby became a two-division UFC champion.

"Conor is the man. I love his style. I love his attitude."

Similarly, Holly Holm alluded to the MMA icon's exceptional trash-talking skills and unparalleled confidence. Praising the 34-year-old McGregor, 'The Preacher's Daughter' said:

"There's always a lot of anticipation around his fights; how it's gonna go. He talks a lot. He's confident."

Furthermore, UFC 155-pound contender Beneil Dariush opined that Conor McGregor's polarizing personality has earned him a significant number of supporters and detractors. He acknowledged, however, that it's hard to ignore McGregor. Dariush noted:

"You might not be a fan -- maybe you might be a fan -- but it's hard not to watch him."
