On the fighting front, Cody Durden is set to face Bruno Silva at UFC on ESPN 60. The matchup comes after a second-round submission loss to Tagir Ulanbekov in December snapped Durden's four-fight winning streak.

A look into Cody Durden's career arc in the UFC

Cody Durden's path to the UFC wasn't linear. After a successful amateur career, he transitioned to professional fighting, experiencing some early setbacks before finding his groove and racking up seven stoppage victories.

Debuting in the UFC in 2020, Durden's journey has been one of mixed results. He has displayed flashes of brilliance, earning decision wins over Aori Qileng and Carlos Mota, but has also fallen short against talented opponents like Muhammad Mokaev and Tagir Ulanbekov.

Currently ranked 14 in the flyweight division, Durden will be looking to get back on track against Silva, who himself is riding a three-fight winning streak. While both fighters train at American Top Team, Durden is confident he can control the fight and emerge victorious.

Speaking to Just Scrap Radio, the 33-year-old fighter said:

"I’m going to go in there and close the distance, be a magnet, and do what I want. Take him down if I want, if it goes to the clinch, I’m ready for that. It’s going to be great."

Should he defeat Silva, Durden has set his sights on a top-10-ranked opponent, specifically calling out Matheus Nicolau for his next fight.

"Hopefully I get to fight Matheus Nicolau next, I think that is a great fight next" [H/t: BJ Penn]
