Bo Nickal believes that Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight will become "bigger" due to prolonged promotion

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will still fight someday in the octagon according to Bo Nickal. This blockbuster bout at welterweight falling out was discussed by the surging middleweight on a recent episode of his podcast Nickals and Dimes.

Some in the combat sports world theorize we may never see the Irishman compete again. However, there are also many holding out the hope that McGregor will return and the Chandler contest does happen. Bo Nickal is one of these people.

Addressing Chandler vs. McGregor dropping out from UFC 303, Nickal said:

"Yeah, he [Michael Chandler] wants that fight though. It'll happen. I still think it's happening but it'll just get pushed back. It's gotta happen, yeah. It's probably going to be; the longer they build it up, the bigger it'll be, right."

Conor McGregor responds to UFC 303 pullout

Conor McGregor finally addressed the situation with the Michael Chandler fight dissolving. There was a lot of build-up and speculation on the status of this contest before the fight was officially scrapped by the company and replaced by Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka II as the headliner.

The 35-year-old chose his personal X platform as the medium to deliver his message to drive off uncertain fans' insights to why this return bout would not be happening.

Via his page @TheNotoriousMMA, McGregor posted a tweet stating:

"Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout. I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team."
"My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there! Thank you for the messages of support, I am in good spirits and confident I'll be back!"

The Dublin native has been out of action since July 2021 when he snapped his leg during a huge trilogy clash versus Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

'The Notorious' has gone 1-3 across his last four MMA fights and aims to rebound from back to back defeats to 'The Diamond'. This targeted return would seem to be a rescheduled Chandler fight although many question marks still remain.
