Bo Nickal provides update on UFC return, says he wants to compete on the "most exciting events"
Bo Nickal recently provided an update on his UFC return and hinted that fans could see him competing at another significant event. The surging middleweight has been a fixture on pay-per-view cards and it appears as though that trend will continue.
The former NCAA Div I National wrestling champion has been a polarizing fighter since bursting on the scene and earning a UFC contract. He most recently earned a second-round submission win over Cody Brundage, which improved his unbeaten MMA record to 6-0 with all six wins coming via stoppage.
During his recent appearance on On The Rocks Podcast, the 28-year-old revealed that there is a good chance that he returns to the octagon at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, which is reportedly scheduled for November. Nickal mentioned that nothing is official yet and noted that he won't be calling anybody out either. He said:
"I don't have anything booked. Nothing's signed but I'm working on November, MSG so that'll be crazy...Whoever, man, don't really matter. At this point, I just want to fight on the biggest card and the most exciting events...The call-out thing is like, I'm getting called out every other weekend so it doesn't really make sense."

Bo Nickal discusses why he believes fighters are calling him out
In addition to addressing when he could possibly return to the octagon, Bo Nickal discussed why he believes there have been more UFC fighters that are eager to call him out and fight him.
During the aforementioned appearance, Nickal mentioned that he believes that fighters are only interested in fighting him because he is still at the developmental stage of his career. He said:
"To me, what it says is that they want to fight me now. They don't want to fight me in a year. These guys that are in the top-10, top-5...they don't want to fight me after I've got some experience under my belt. They want to catch me early and hopefully in their mind make their record look a little bit better. Get my name under their belt, but for me it's all about development, getting better."
