Brandon Royval and Muhammad Mokaev trade shots after undefeated UFC star dismisses 'Raw Dawg' as potential flyweight BMF
UFC flyweight Brandon Royval recently announced that he would be taking on former champion Brandon Moreno in the main event of UFC Mexico City. Royval will replace Amir Albazi in Moreno's return to his home country on Feb. 24 at Arena CDMX.
Royval also stated that the matchup will be for the BMF belt in the flyweight division, to which he drew a scathing response from No.8-ranked flyweight Muhammad Mokaev. Mokaev took a dig at Royval's record of 15 wins and seven losses, with three losses from his eight octagon appearances.
Mokaev wrote that Moreno is worthy of a BMF, but not Royval:
"Your record 15-7 Moreno can be BMF but definitely not you , chill out"

Royval immediately hit back at the undefeated Mokaev and his performances so far:
"Damn lil bro your words have done more damage than you in a 3 round fight"

Fans react to Muhammad Mokaev's dig at Brandon Royval's record
Fans had a mixed response to Muhammad Mokaev's post on X that highlighted Brandon Royval's professional record compared to his own undefeated record.
Some fans agreed with Mokaev about Royval's fighting skills.
"Exactly what I’m saying . Royval is straight up trash. His last performance was a disgrace to a championship match."
Others argued that the first two matchups for the BMF belt did not necessitate a record without blemishes, citing that Royval is deserving enough of a shot at the BMF belt.
"Apparently you didn't see the records of the first two that fought for the original BMF belt"
"what does that have to do with anything? the original fighters in the bmf fight both had like 15 losses"
"Look at the 2 records of the lads who fought for the original BMF fight. Some scrap!"
Other fans sided with Royval and lauded him as an "exciting" fighter compared to Mokaev's wrestling-heavy style of fighting. However, four out of five wins in the UFC octagon have come via a submission finish.
"It’s about being an exciting fighter. Not a decision fighter."
"you'll never be a bmf bc ur the most boring overrated fighter on the roster"
