Brave CF's Muhammad Mokaev still has coming back to the UFC as his goal
Muhammad Mokaev plans to work his way back to the UFC. The 24-year-old stated his desire yet again in his latest post on X.
On July 27, Mokaev made his seventh appearance in the UFC. The undefeated fighter entered UFC 304 with a 6-0 promotional record and planned to continue building momentum by settling an intense rivalry with Manel Kape.
Mokaev managed to secure a unanimous decision win, but fans were disappointed as the lackluster fight failed to reach expectations. Following UFC 304, Dana White shockingly announced that Mokaev was released from the promotion despite being arguably one win away from a flyweight title shot.
Mokaev announced his signing with BRAVE Combat Federation, a promotion he fought in five times before the UFC. Dana White doesn't seem interested in re-signing Mokaev anytime soon, but the undefeated flyweight doesn't plan on giving up.
Earlier this week, Mokaev took to X and said:
"Highest paid flyweight fighter in the world right now without holding the title @bravemmaf. But of course my goal is come back to UFC because it is the number 1 promotion in the world right now!"
Muhammad Mokaev suffered another setback last month when he was involved in a car accident in Dagestan, Russia. Luckily, Mokaev didn't suffer any serious injuries, as he's already returned to training for his next fight.
Muhammad Mokaev's path back to the UFC
At 24 years old, Muhammad Mokaev has plenty of time to continue racking up wins and potentially rejoin the UFC. However, Dana White claimed there were multiple reasons the promotion released him, including his fighting style and negative relationship with the matchmakers.
Firstly, Mokaev needs to capture the Brave Combat Federation flyweight title. Due to his controversial UFC departure, many MMA fans will be keeping a close eye on his next few fights. Therefore, an impressive run of finishes or dominant decisions would lead to people calling for him to receive another chance.
Secondly, Mokaev would need to convince Dana White and the UFC that he won't cause any problems behind the scenes. It won't be an easy road for Mokaev to rejoin the UFC, but anything is possible in the world of combat sports.
