Brazilian knockout merchant John Lineker names Thai megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon as his dream Muay Thai opponent

Former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker revealed his dream opponent under Muay Thai rules during his recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on the r/MMA subreddit. Reddit user u/Own_Assignment_4714 asked 'Hands of Stone':

"If you could fight anyone of your choice (regardless of their promotion or weight) in Muay Thai, who would you pick and why?"

The 34-year-old Brazilian responded with just one word:

"Rodtang."

Lineker fighting the reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon under Muay Thai rules would undoubtedly be a dream for ONE fans who have closely followed their performances in the world's largest martial arts promotion.

Given that both men are blessed with absurd knockout power and otherworldly durability, a straightforward striking battle between the Brazilian and 'The Iron Man' is worthy of top billing on any card.

A once-in-a-lifetime encounter with Rodtang could be on the cards for Lineker, especially if he emerges victorious in his bantamweight Muay Thai debut at ONE 168: Denver on Friday, Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena against Asa Ten Pow.

Asa Ten Pow promises statement victory over John Lineker

John Lineker will be Asa Ten Pow's most dangerous opponent yet, owing to the 18 devasting knockouts he has posted in his 37-win career.

However, the 34-year-old American believes he has prepared accordingly to handle the American Top Team star's deadly blows at ONE 168: Denver.

Speaking with ONE Championship, Ten Pow stated:

"It's going to be a show of technique and probably a flash of history in the making. So you don't want to blink because I'm going to be lighting up the house."

Watch ONE 168: Denver live inside the Ball Arena on Friday, September 6. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
