Brazilian superstar Mayssa Bastos is “ready for the battle” against atomweight submission grappling queen Danielle Kelly
It's safe to say that Mayssa Bastos is fully prepared for her career-defining matchup against Danielle Kelly.
Bastos will challenge Kelly for the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 this Friday at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
Ahead of her world title bid, Bastos took to Instagram and expressed her readiness to face Kelly head-on for the biggest prize in submission grappling.
Mayssa Bastos wrote:
"Ready for the battle! @onechampionship this Friday night live on Prime Video #ONEFightNight24"
Bastos is already considered one of her generation's best submission grapplers, male or female, and she has the accolades to back such lofty standards.
The Brazilian superstar had a ridiculous 115-12 record and has nine world titles under the IBJJF, IBJJF No-Gi, and Who's Number One.
She made her ONE Championship debut earlier this year when she dominated Kanae Yamada for the unanimous decision win at the all-female ONE Fight Night 20 card in March.
Bastos now has a chance at a career-defining prize when she faces off against Kelly this Friday.
ONE Fight Night 24, just like all of ONE Championship's Amazon cards is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Mayssa Bastos believes her match against Danielle Kelly will help her improve as a fighter
Much like any other top athlete, Mayssa Bastos isn't content with the level she's at now.
The nine-time BJJ world champion is always looking for that next step in her career, and she believes her world title challenge against Danielle Kelly will give her that.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Bastos said challenging Kelly for the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title will give her the opportunity to improve her overall game.
"Yeah, for sure. Like I feel it’s a good challenge and it’s going to help me grow and yeah, I’m just really excited for the challenge," said Bastos.
