After more than 12 months off, Cody Garbrandt will be making his return to the octagon at UFC 285 in March 2023, as per Eurosport Nederland.

It will be Garbrandt's eighth appearance at a pay-per-view event in nine fights. 'No Love' will hope to bounce back from a knockout loss against top flyweight contender Kai Kara-France at UFC 269 last December.

Cody Garbrandt is 1-5 across his last six fights and will hope that a return to 135 pounds will bring good fortune.

The former UFC bantamweight champion took the MMA world by storm when he delivered the performance of a lifetime to win the belt at 26 years old. Garbrandt put on a masterclass against Dominick Cruz at UFC 207, leading many to believe that he was destined for greatness.

'No Love' was defeated by friend-turned-rival T.J. Dillashaw in his first title defense, and is yet to reignite whatever flame was extinguished by his losses.

His opponent, Julio Arce, is 5-4 in the UFC. But with an impressive debut victory over a tough opponent in Dan Ige, as well as a head-kick KO of Julian Erosa, Arce will be no pushover.

It was recently announced that Cody Garbrandt will take on Julio Arce at UFC 285 in March 2023. The former UFC champion is a loyal servant of Team Alpha Male, a professional gym run by friend and fellow fighter Urijah Faber in California, USA.

But it appears that in preparation for his upcoming bout with Arce, 'No Love' will be training with Khamzat Chimaev and Andreas Michael, the head coach of 'Borz'.

Both Chimaev and his coach operate out of Sweden and train at a gym called the AllStar Training Center, the flagship for MMA gyms in the country. 'No Love' did not travel to Sweden to train with the Chechen and his partners, but is instead currently in Dubai.

Cody Garbrandt posted a photo on Instagram earlier today, and can be seen training with Chimaev and the rest of the Stockholm-based team.

It appears that the hunger and tenacity that Chimaev displays whenever on camera or in the octagon has inspired fellow UFC fighters to join his camp, at least temporarily.

Initially, it was Darren Till who flew to Sweden to improve his wrestling with the help of Andreas Michael and 'Borz'. Now, it looks as if Cody Garbrandt has followed suit.
