MMA fans all over the world are waiting for more information on the potential Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight. They are currently shooting for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), where they will be cast as rival coaches.

McGregor and Chandler are expected to fight later this year, after filming for The Ultimate Fighter gets concluded. The bout is expected to take place in the welterweight division, according to rumors.

Michael Chandler spoke to the media at UFC 285 and was questioned about the specifics of the potential clash. Chandler responded:

"No information yet. I'm looking for info. At this point, I don't think it's going to be 155-pounds. Conor expressed that it's going to be 170-pounds. I would love it at 170-pounds... I'll fight him at 185-pounds. I'll fight him in whatever weight class..... I couldn't care less. I just want to fight the man. It would make a lot of sense from the airing of the show [TUF] ending in August for us to fight some time in September, October, some time this fall. I haven't heard of an actual date."

Chandler added:

"He's talking about 185-pounds... We'll see. I called his bluff. I think he doesn't thinks that I'm heavy and as dense as I actually am. I'm sitting here at 191-pounds."

Ian Garry backs Conor McGregor in potential clash against Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor will make his highly anticipated octagon return against Michael Chandler somewhere down the line this year.

Shooting for TUF has already begun in Las Vegas for the UFC reality TV show, which will air from May to August.

Ian Garry, who trains with Michael Chandler at Sanford MMA, has mixed feelings about the fight. Hailing from Ireland, he was inspired to take up MMA by fellow Irishman Conor McGregor's meteoric rise.

Despite Chandler being his teammate, McGregor's UFC comeback has 'The Future' rooting for him. Speaking to Mirror Fighting, Garry stated:

"This is very simple. I have trained with one guy [Michael Chandler] for a year. I like Mike, there's nothing against him but he's going up against a guy who inspired an entire nation. A guy who I've looked up to and inspired my entire nation. A guy who I've sat about been anxious about when he fights. A hundred per cent I'm team Notorious."

McGregor will attempt to get his first UFC victory in over three years with his comeback. McGregor and Chandler are anticipated to engage in a bout in the fourth quarter of this year.
