BREAKING: Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry cruiserweight boxing match now official
It appears as though fans will get to see Jake Paul compete this summer after all, as his next bout against Mike Perry was recently made official. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been in the headlines recently, after his bout against Mike Tyson was postponed.
'The Problem Child' vs. 'Platinum' is scheduled to take place on July 20, which is the same date that the 27-year-old's bout against Tyson was initially slated for. Paul comes into the bout riding a three-fight win streak, while Perry comes into the bout following an unbeaten run in bare-knuckle boxing under the BKFC banner.
Although the bout is taking place on the same night as the initial bout against Tyson, it's important to note that this will be a seperate deal. Ariel Helwani took to his X account and reported the details after Happy Punch first reported the bout being signed. Paul vs. Perry will be an 8-round bout contested at cruiserweight and will be broadcast on DAZN pay-per-view.
Helwani tweeted:
"Jake Paul x Mike Perry is a done deal, per MVP officials. Cruiserweight boxing match is set for July 20 in Tampa. 8 rounds. @DAZNBoxing PPV. First reported by @HappyPunch."

Mike Perry's comments on potentially fighting Jake Paul resurfaces
Although the boxing bout materialized rather quickly, Mike Perry has thought about fighting Jake Paul for quite some time.
After reporting the details in the aforementioned tweet, Ariel Helwani tweeted a clip from his interview with 'Platinum' last year in which he commented on a potential clash. Perry mentioned that it would be a difficult night for Paul if they shared the ring and described what would transpire if they did fight. He said:
"What's he [Paul] gonna do to me? Hit me a couple times? He's gonna hurt his hand on my face. And then I'm gonna beat him down and I'm gonna chase him around the ring and make him tired. Hit him in the body, the face, make him bleed his blood. He's gonna fall over."
