BREAKING: Jon Jones discloses "likely" date for Stipe Miocic fight

Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic's heavyweight title clash appears to be coming closer to being a sealed deal real fast.

Miocic had previously mentioned that the fight could come to fruition at UFC 290 on July 8 during International Fight Week. 'Bones' also recently claimed to have been offered a date for his first heavyweight title defense.

According to Jones, UFC 290 is a 'more than likely' date for his clash against the former heavyweight champ. However, the 35-year-old was admittedly surprised by how quickly the date was offered to him.

Responding to a fan's query about the July 8 date, 'Bones' wrote on Twitter:

"More than likely, felt like that was kind of sprung on me. Need to talk with my team/UFC and come up with a plan."

Jon Jones returned to the octagon after a three-year hiatus at UFC 285 last weekend, taking on Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title. The former light-heavyweight champ shut down all talk of ring rust with a dominant first-round submission win.

"Y'all want to see me beat up Stipe?"

Jones then proceeded to call out Stipe Miocic, who was present cageside. The former champ hasn't fought since losing his heavyweight strap to Francis Ngannou in 2021 via a brutal knockout loss.
