Breaking: Surging UFC flyweight Amir Albazi set to face #3 Kai Kara-France in June

It appears as though an exciting flyweight clash between Amir Albazi and No.3-ranked flyweight Kai Kara-France is set for UFC Fight Night 226, which is scheduled to take place on June 3.

The fight will be an excellent opportunity for both as the winner could possibly earn a title shot, especially considering that former champion Deiveson Figueiredo will be moving up to bantamweight. Alexandre Pantoja is expected to challenge Brandon Moreno for the flyweight championship next. The timing could thus work in Albazi and Kara-France's favor should they earn a decisive win.

Albazi is a surging flyweight contender and has been impressive since making his octagon debut in 2020. He is currently riding a 5-fight winning streak dating back to 2019 and has remained unbeaten in the UFC. 'The Prince' posted a photo of the bout on his Instagram and mentioned that he believes he will eventually make history, writing:

"June 3rd we are coming closer to that belt...inshallah first arab champion ever"

Meanwhile, 'Don't Blink' will be looking to bounce back from his TKO loss to the reigning flyweight champion. Prior to the loss, he was riding a three-fight winning streak that included wins over Askar Askarov and former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt.

Will Kai Kara-France's losses to Brandon Moreno hurt his chances at a title shot?

Kai Kara-France has been a top flyweight in the UFC for quite some time, however, it could be a while before he earns a title shot.

The New Zealander has fought reigning flyweight champion Brandon Moreno twice and came up short on both occasions. With that in mind, it would be understandable why the UFC would likely lean more towards another contender to challenge Moreno.

Despite losses to 'The Assassin Baby', it's still possible for 'Don't Blink' to earn a title shot. His most recent loss to the champion earned Fight of the Night and an impressive win against a surging contender could be enough for him to convince the promotion.
