BREAKING: Two title fights set to headline UFC 307
It appears as though there will be two title fights headlining UFC 307, which takes place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct. 5. The card is shaping up quite nicely as there will be plenty of star power in addition to arguably one of the promotion's biggest stars in the main event.
Although there have been plenty of intriguing bouts including Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling and Kayla Harrison vs. Ketlen Vieira being announced for the event, there continues to be speculation on who will headline the pay-per-view.
Most recently, Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway was confirmed for UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi likely due to Islam Makhachev's injury, and so the promotion went in another direction.
The promotion put all those questions to rest by tweeting the official announcement that UFC 307 will be headlined by two title fights. In the main event, Alex Pereira defends his light heavyweight championship against No.8 ranked Khalil Rountree.
Meanwhile, a longtime rivalry stemming from 'TUF' a decade ago will culminate in the co-main event as women's bantamweight champion Raquel Pennington defends her title against Julianna Pena. They wrote:
"Utah, we're back for #UFC307 in a BIG way"

UFC 307 will mark Alex Pereira's third main event of 2024
Alex Pereira has certainly made a strong argument for why he should be considered in the discussion for Fighter of the Year.
UFC 307 will mark Pereira's third main event of 2024, which is quite impressive considering the circumstances that led to each of those bouts. 'Poatan' agreed to defend his light heavyweight championship on short notice in both his previous title defenses and earned impressive knockout wins against Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka.
Another impressive win could be significant for Pereira as it could possibly lead to him moving up to heavyweight in attempt becoming the first triple-division UFC champion depending on Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic's status after their eventual bout.
