Brendan Schaub feels Paddy Pimblett is getting the Jake Paul treatment
Brendan Schuab is the latest to weigh in on Paddy Pimblett's popularity and criticism among the MMA community.
Schuab uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, where he mentioned that he believes Pimblett is getting the Jake Paul treatment, especially after his beef with journalist Ariel Helwani was made public. The former TUF runner-up explained why he feels the UFC lightweight is beginning to receive hate:
"When a guy gets too much notoriety, it's in the DNA of MMA fans and the DNA of you know the inbreds or the haters on social media to bring those guys down. When you think it's not deserved, there's nothing that triggers people more." (10:48 - 11:07)
The Fighter and The Kid host then added that another reason why 'The Baddy' is receiving so much hate is because it's what will bring in views and clicks. He believes that the UFC lightweight is being criticized for the judges' scorecards, which he had nothing to do with, saying:
"Paddy went out there and gave his best effort, and the three judges that Paddy has nothing to do with decided that he won the fight. Whether you think he should have won or not, Paddy cannot control that, that is not on Paddy. So instead of taking your hate out on Paddy Pimblett...your hatred should really go towards the judging of the UFC." (11:52 - 12:16)
Fighters and the media were shocked at the result of 'The Baddy' vs. Jared Gordon, with many even going as far as calling it a robbery because all three judges scored the fight in favor of Pimblett.

Ariel Helwani sounds off on judge who awarded Paddy Pimblett the win
Ariel Helwani took to Twitter to shed light on MMA judge Doug Crosby's suspicious history of poor judging and for scoring the Paddy Pimblett-Jared Gordon fight in favor of 'The Baddy.'
Helwani brought up the the judge had a history of outlandish scores in the past. He even brought up his scorecard for the Bellator interim bantamweight championship fight between Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello. This took place the night before UFC 282 and in another state.
The MMA Hour host mentioned that the UFC needs to address these issues with judges as the promotion's integrity has been questioned, especially with the ongoing James Krause betting scandal:
"Crosby has been delivering horrendous scorecards for years. Well over a decade. But that aside, no judge should work two shows in different parts of the country in a 24 hour span. They should be well rested and clear minded. I can't believe Nevada allowed this."
