Brendan Schaub hails Michael Chandler as "best lightweight of all time" but there's a catch to it

Brendan Schaub hailed Michael Chandler as the best lightweight of all time, bearing in mind an important underlying contingency.

In the opening five minutes of their hotly contested fight at UFC 281, Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler delivered arguably the best round of the year.

While reacting to the epic contest on his YouTube channel, Brendan Schaub claimed that Chandler is the best fighter in the 155-pound category in the opening five minutes:

"Michael Chandler has to be the best lightweight of all time in the first round to ever exist. I don't care who you are. If you don't have a granite chin, nobody is making it out of the first round with Chandler. He literally has to be the best 155er to ever do it in five minutes."

Schaub further added that explosiveness and sheer power is a two-edged sword, and it was smart on Dustin Poirier's part to let 'Iron' fatigue before pushing the pace:

"If they survive, he [Chandler] slows down and I couldn't believe Dustin Poirier... At his age figured that you can't take the same shots."

“Eddie and I have got some history. Eddie and I have made some magic in there. Eddie was a former UFC champion. I would love to see him come back here and get thrown back into the mix. There ain’t no way that he and I are not fighting if he comes to the UFC. So, I love the idea of that fight.”
