Brendan Schaub thinks Dana White should not "lose his job" over slapping his wife
Dana White created waves in the MMA community after the UFC frontman was caught on tape being involved in an altercation with his wife on New Year's Eve in Mexico.
While White had previously issued an apologetic statement after TMZ first posted a now-viral video of him and his wife, Anne, getting into an intoxicated fracas in public, the 53-year-old's statement apparently wasn't enough to placate the public, and there have been calls for his resignation as UFC president.
However, Brendan Schaub is of the opinion that while Dana White should face repercussions for his actions, he shouldn't have to lose his job. Speaking on the latest episode of The Fighter And The Kid podcast, the former UFC heavyweight fighter opined:
"Apparently, Dana White did a press conference today and he was like, 'For the fighters sticking up for me, don't... Quit sticking up for me'... That's what I've been saying from the jump, let him deal with this. Fighters, you're not gonna get an extra bonus... Let him eat his crow, deal with it. I don't think he should lose his job. There should be some reprecussions...You can't hit a woman in public like that."

Dana White confirms that he will not be stepping down as UFC president
After the ugly incident that transpired on New Year's Eve, Dana White almost immediately issued a statement iterating his remorse for his manner of conduct and stated that intoxication was part of the reason for his behavior that night.

White recently made an appearance at the recent media scrum ahead of UFC Vegas 67 and recapitulated his shame for slapping his wife in public. Addressing the public outcry over his actions, he claimed that his public image and how others view him is a severe punishment in itself.
Dana White further iterated that it would be detrimental to the UFC if he chose to leave and would negatively affect the business and its employees:
"What should the repercussions be?... I take 30 days off? How does that hurt me?... Me leaving hurts the company. Hurts my employees. Hurts the fighters. Doesn't hurt me...Here's my punishment... I gotta walk around for however long I live... My other punishment is that I'm sure a lot of people, whether it be the media, fighters, friends, acquaintances, who had respect for me might not have respect for me now."
