British legend Liam Harrison places his crazy comeback knockout of Muangthai as one of his most memorable fights
British Muay Thai legend Liam Harrison named his insane one-round war with Muangthai PK Saenchai at ONE 156 in April 2022 as one of the most memorable fights of his illustrious career.
Taking to his Instagram account, 'Hitman' shared:
"Muangthai, Anuwat, [Andrei] Kulebin. Also, I like my fight with Houcine Bennoui. I thought that was absolutely mental. I really like Bennoui. He's such a f**king hard, hard guy, one of the toughest people I've ever fought."
The Bad Company product also spoke extensively about his second encounter with Thai legend Saenchai:
"Saenchai [fight] number two. Even though I lost, I gave him absolute nightmares in that fight. I kept sweeping him, I cut him. That showed how tough Saenchai actually is because I hit him with some horrendous punches and elbows because I hit hard. That was a good fight even though I lost. So yeah, Saenchai two, Bennoui, Kulebin, Anuwat, Muangthai.
Harrison was in dire straits against Muangthai as 'Elbow Zombie' was one knockdown away from invoking the three-knockdown rule. However, it was Harrison who enforced the three-knockdown rule to emerge with the TKO victory.
Liam Harrison praises Seksan for ONE 168: Denver barnburner
Liam Harrison went out on his shield fighting fellow Muay Thai legend Seksan Or Kwanmuang at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena, where Harrison ultimately lost via TKO in the second round and signified his retirement by leaving his gloves inside the cage.
During the ONE 168: Denver post-event press conference, Harrison gave 'The Man Who Yields To No One' his props:
"I said to him after the fight as well, 'Did you feel the altitude?' and he said 'No.' Did you feel the body shot? [And he said] It didn't look like it. What a guy. But I honestly thought I was gonna win this fight. I didn't see anything past winning and winning in style."
