Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has expressed an interest in fighting Khamzat Chimaev, who returned with a dominating performance against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. 'Borz' submitted the former middleweight champion with a rear-naked choke-cum-face crank in the first round.
Adesanya was impressed by the Chechen-born fighter's tactics in the octagon, and intends to fight him. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, he said:
"I knew they were going to go with this fight because I knew it was coming. They have already organized this so I wasn’t like oh what. I was surprised by the way Khamzat ran through Rob that was crazy. That was like wow that made me want to fight him. I was okay s..t this guy’s actually really really good.”

Khamzat Chimaev wanted to fight Israel Adesanya
Khamzat Chimaev previously called out the then-undefeated middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in 2020. At the time, 'Borz' had entered the UFC and finished three opponents, while Adesanya was fresh off his knockout victory against Paulo Costa at UFC 253.
