“Brooks is just a different beast” - Lito Adiwang says Jarred Brooks in a different class compared to Gustavo Balart
Jarred Brooks has proven himself over and over again, although an unfortunate decision forced him to take a short detour at the moment.
The former ONE strawweight MMA king had to be disqualified after spiking his rival and now reigning world champion Joshua Pacio in their rematch.
Now, Brooks is set to tussle with Cuban Olympian Gustavo Balart for the interim title at ONE Fight Night 24 inside the Lumpinee Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand.
But overcoming all odds and becoming one of the strawweight greats had brought the American brawler onto another level, as admitted by one of his former rivals, Filipino star Lito Adiwang.
Adiwang revealed how Brooks has always been a beast inside the ONE Circle or ring when he spoke to Sportskeeda MMA. And although Balart has an excellent wrestling skills, he believes that 'The Monkey God' is still way above him.
He said:
"Balart also has a wrestling background, but Brooks is just a different beast. Brooks has a better understanding of how to transition during fights. The fight is MMA, not just wrestling, so Brooks has an edge on that overall aspect wherein he can mix things up."
"He can go from wrestling to striking to even using submissions."
And now, fans can catch their main event tussle at ONE Fight Night 24 live in U.S. primetime, free of charge for those with Amazon Prime Video subscription in North America.
Jarred Brooks takes on different perspective on his bout with Gustavo Balart
Jarred Brooks is going all out to get that interim belt on his shoulder when he faces Gustavo Balart.
Although he may have already sat on the throne before this, 'The Monkey God' told Sportskeeda MMA that he is more determined than ever to take the victory over the Cuban Olympic wrestler.
He said:
"For me, this fight is special because it's my chance to show my growing arsenal, my evolved skill set, and, like I said, the newer version of 'The Monkey God.' So yeah, it's all or nothing on my end, bro."
