Bryce Mitchell's last fight against Topuria was in a featherweight matchup at UFC 282. 'El Matador' largely dominated the fight and ultimately submitted 'Thug Nasty' via a second-round arm-triangle choke. The No.11-ranked featherweight was previously undefeated in his MMA career.
However, the Arkansas native doesn't seem to have lost any stock as a fighter and his eccentric personality certainly helps his popularity. Bryce Mitchell gained peculiar notoriety after he called out Joe Rogan for making fun of 'flat-earthers' on his podcast.

"We had been looking for months... It's like, I've f***ing been trying for months... A month later, though, [The UFC said], 'Hey, Mitchell. If you wanna fight Topuria, you have to next month'... So I said fu** it, let's go in December... If I don't fight now, I'm living off of a couple of thousand bucks until February."
