Bryce Mitchell reflects on UFC 282 loss to Ilia Topuria
Bryce Mitchell's first career loss came against Ilia Topuria at UFC 282. The No.11-ranked featherweight revealed that he shouldn't have taken the fight due to an illness.
Speaking to James Lynch of Lynch on Sports, 'Thug Nasty' stated:
"Just a lot of anger, a lot of resentment, a lot of hatred, a lot of guilt, a lot of desire to get in there and just f**k s**t up because I'm really just mad at life right now... I was just really sick. I shouldn't have took the fight, but I can't do anything about it. It just pisses me off, the whole thing does, so if anything it just pissed me off to a whole new level."
Bryce Mitchell continued:
"You can't really get to the level of anger I'm at without getting your a** beat. You get your a** beat, you get to a whole new level of anger, a whole new level of pissed off, a whole new level of motivation. They say the sport has highs and lows. Well, the low, it's very low and you can't get that low in everyday life. If you get your a** beat one time, you'll be so mad, it'll change your life for months to come."

Mitchell will look to get back in the win column when he faces Jonathan Pearce at UFC 288. The No.11-ranked featherweight previously revealed that, despite his illness against Ilia Topuria, he had no choice but to take the fight due to his financial situation.
Bryce Mitchell's first career loss: 'Thug Nasty' doesn't count his loss
Bryce Mitchell will enter UFC 288 with a professional mixed martial arts record of 15 wins and one loss. 'Thug Nasty' recently revealed that he doesn't count the single loss on his record:
"I was really mad, so I didn't really wanna do it again, but then I started thinking how that one really doesn't even count. I understand that it counts on my record, but when I look back at it, I just can't really count that as a win or a loss. It doesn't even count as me going in there. I didn't rehydrate properly... I was cutting weight on medication they say you have to eat with... I didn't even go into the f**cking fight being me."

Mitchell added that his comments were not a slight on Ilia Topuria, but rather a reflection on the state of his health in the bout. He claimed that a fifth-grader could have defeated him that night.
